Buy one get one free, save an extra 50% – off both of these sound like great deals.  That is of course until you actually go in the store and realize that there are specific conditions you must follow in order to take advantage of these deals.  God recently gave me a revelation about this and how we can apply it to our daily life. I truly believe that each and every person on this earth was created for greatness.  The Bible reminds us that when God created us, He did so in His image.  He created each of us with a purpose in mind and a destiny set before us.  There are however, stipulations or as I mentioned earlier, specific conditions that apply.

In order for the greatness that God has placed deep down on the inside of you to manifest, there is a requirement from you as well.  There is a certain expectation that God has in regards to the way you live your life.  Don’t get me wrong; I am not in any way suggesting that He wants you to be perfect.  What I am saying however is that He wants you to live right.  Be kind to one another, show respect, walk in love and lastly be obedient. God wants you to be obedient to Him.  He wants to bless you.  He wants to enlarge your territory, but He also wants you to do what He asks you to do.

I hear all the time about the promises of God, and I truly believe them to be true.  On the flip side of that, I never hear about the requirements in order to get them.  You must be obedient to God.  If God is speaking to you to do something, do it.  Simply put.  God speaks to each and every one of us.  A lot of times we call it our conscious, or a gut feeling.  I call it God.  The blessings and promises of God are there ready for you.  There are however, things that must first take place in order to receive them.  Take time to reflect for just a moment.  Are you being obedient?  Obedience in strength.  Obedience is action.  At the end of the day, obedience is a small gift to God.  It is your way to show and not just say that you believe.

Thought Check:

“But Samuel replied: “Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the LORD? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.” (1 Samuel 15:22 NIV)

“If you love me, obey my commandments.” (John 14:15 NLT)

“He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” (Luke 11:28 NIV)

The Reality of Reality…

letstalkaboutlife365.com(Reality)

I decided to take a hiatus from television for about a year or so a while back.  This was not something that was extremely hard for me because outside of football and an occasional show here or there, I am not a big fan of watching television anyway.  Seems like now and days though all that’s on television are reality shows. I guess it is safe to say they are very popular, since so many networks have them.  Why is that?  Why are people so captivated by what appears to be the reality of other people’s life?  Not to mention the fact that there aren’t many positive messages being sent through these shows, so why are we drawn to such negativity?  Does the reality of another individual’s mess make yours seem less relevant?  Or do you just like seeing other people’s drama?  Cause that is exactly what it is drama, both figuratively and literally.

Although you may look at the glitz and glamour of who or what you think you see on TV and like to compare it to your own life, the fact of the matter is this…reality is a state of mind.  Reality is whatever refuses to go away even when you stop believing in it. Perception is reality.  You are the only one who creates your reality.  And let me just throw this out there.  Do not, I repeat DO NOT allow the opinions of others to impact you.  That is their reality, not yours.

Now let me ask you this, what is your reality?  No script, no actors just the real deal of who you are.  Before you can change it, you have to first acknowledge it.  If you’re doing well right now, that’s your reality so acknowledge it.  On the flip side, if you’re not doing too well right now, that’s your reality so acknowledge it.  To know your reality is to accept it.  At that point you can decide if you want to change it or embrace it.

Do you have a dream?  Aspirations? Goals?  My challenge to you is to work hard and make it a reality.  Matter fact, make it your reality.  Dreams will only be dreams until you wake up and make it happen.  You are the only one who creates your reality. That’s the reality of what life is all about.

Philippians 4:8-9 ESV “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.”

Think BIG!!!

discovertext

I wanted to do a follow up with yesterday’s post about taking the limits off God and what He can do in your life.  One revelation that God gave me a few weeks back is that not only should we take off any limits we have placed on Him, but He cannot do a great thing in a little mind.  This really got me to thinking and I will pose this question to you as well.  Is your mind vast enough to encompass greatness or are you so simple minded that you can’t imagine anything beyond what you can see in the present moment?  I know that I have great faith in God, which gives me the ability to see beyond my present situation but I can honestly say that I am working every day on expanding my thought process to see the greatness ahead.  It can be tough when there is so much hurt, rejection, and disappointment around you.  What I am trying to do is set all of that to the side.  I know that these things have all been put there to push me towards that greatness I asked about, it’s just a matter of me staying focused and not allowing those rough patches to get me off track.

What I have learned is that it is so important to understand that so many things in our lives are birthed in our minds.  It develops as a thought, and then its up to you to act on it. What the devil will do is try to counterattack those thoughts and cause you to doubt.  He knows there is greatness in you and he wants to do everything he can to prevent them from coming to fruition.  If he can shut you down by using someone to say something negative to you and bring hurt and disappointment, then that is what he will do.  Often times, he will even use people who are close to you to do it.  Another thing to understand if this happens is that they may not even realize they are being used.  The bible tells us that the enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy and you better believe that he will do it any way he can.  This is where you have to use that power and authority that God has already given you.  Do not let the enemy shut you down, you shut him down.  We destroy him by doing just what 2 Corinthians 10:5 says, Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.  The devil is defeated, we just have to remind him.

When you get that small inkling in your mind to do something that you know can only come from God, you must act on it.  Obedience is not only better than sacrifice, obedience is where you get your blessings.  Operating in a spirit of obedience will take you so far because it will allow the gifts that you are operating in to make room for you.  As a servant of the Lord, I want to operate in greatness, not for myself, but so that the Kingdom of God can truly get glory out of my life.  My prayer is that your desire will be the same.  We are human and will most certainly make mistakes, but let’s not allow our mistakes to prevent us from operating in greatness for our life.  I end with these two questions, what’s on your mind?  More importantly, what are you doing about it? #iDeclare #thinkBIG

Prayer:

Father God, in the name of Jesus I come humbly before your throne thanking you for who you are in my life.  I come asking Lord that you would help me to think big.  Help me to understand the many things that are birthed in my mind and how to use them for your glory.  I decree and declare that when a thought is placed in my mind, I will act upon it and be obedient to the calling you have placed inside of me.  I will operate in greatness.  Thank you Jesus for hearing my prayer.  I love you, honor you and praise you.  In Jesus name, Amen.

1 Samuel 15:22 NLT “But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.”
