Sweet Treats from the Heart

Do you have a set schedule? A list of activities that you do on a regular basis, such as work, school, errands, etc? Is there something on that list that is for you? Something that you do to help get your mind off of your regular mundane day-to-day activities. It is important that you have this place of escape not only to keep you sane, but also to maintain balance. This is why I support Renae’s Cake Revelation.

Owner Renae McFadden, who is also an active duty combat war veteran, started Renae’s Cake Revelation. Baking was something she always loved to do because it gave her an escape and sense of peace from everything going on around her. It wasn’t until a little over 3 years ago that she really took her baking seriously and decided to share this wonderful gift that God has given her with other people. When asked how what she does motivates, inspires or encourages other people her response was, “Baking cakes is something I am very passionate about. Sometimes I do find it challenging because I work a full-time job but I don’t think God would bless me with a talent and not expect me to share it. I taught myself to decorate cakes by watching videos and trial and error. I recently completed my very first cake decorating class. I would have never dreamed that I would actually be baking cakes for birthdays and special occasions for others.”

It is an amazing thing when your passion turns into an opportunity then that opportunity turns into success. God is just amazing like that. He has placed so many gifts and talents on the inside of us, but He’s waiting on us to step out on faith and share those gifts with the world. Even if you are a bit apprehensive at first, Renae’s Cake Revelation is proof that you can be successful. Follow your dreams, you never know where they may take you.  Her hard work, dedication, commitment and trust in God is what has made Renae as successful as she is. She recently relocated to Junction City, KS by way of the military and her business is already growing tremendously. She is gaining new clients on a regular basis and was recently a featured vendor at the Junction City Juneteenth Celebration. She also gives back to the community once a month by donating a custom cake to a family in need.

Be the Awesome Person you were Created to Be

you_are_awesome

Today I want to remind you to be awesome!  Let go of your past. Everyone makes mistakes, or as the Bible says all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Good news is, you don’t have to stay down. Repent, ask God to forgive you and He will. Then forgive yourself and move forward. Do not allow your sin to hold you captive. One of the best examples of this can be seen through David, who we’ve come to know as a man after God’s own heart. David was nowhere near perfect. He made many mistakes in his life, he was a murderer, he was adulterer just to name a few but no matter what he did he always went back to God. Let David be an example to us all of what it means to be someone after God’s own heart.

What does it mean to be someone after God’s own heart? It means you have a relationship with God. When you have a relationship with someone, you spend time with them. You talk to them. You listen to them. You trust them. You do right by them. This is the type of heart we should have for our Heavenly Father. In addition to all of the above, “God is spirit, so we must worship Him in spirit and truth”(John 4:24 KJV). You cannot worship God fully in spirit and in truth if you are still holding on to past mistakes. Not only can you not worship freely, you cannot live freely. This is called bondage and satan wants to keep you in bondage. He wants your mind to be held captive to your faults. He wants to keep you in a dark place in life, because he knows that when you see the light you will be able to walk in the full purpose and destiny in which God has for your life. When you walk in the light you are then able to be the man or woman who God created you to be.

Know your enemy. The devil comes to steal, kill and destroy and he is going to do that be any means necessary. Do not allow him to beat you up with condemnation. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. You might feel convicted, which you should because that just means the Holy Spirit is living inside of you. But you should never feel condemned. Stand up and take your rightful place in the Kingdom of God. Let go of those mistakes, free yourself from bondage and be the awesome person that you were created to be!

Thought Check:

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 8:1 KJV

“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:24 KJV

Lay it Down

letstalkaboutlife365.com(layitdown)

Do you ever feel as though you have the weight of the world on your shoulders? I can think of a few times in my past where I have felt this way, not quite understanding why. If you are feeling this way, I want to encourage you to do a little self-evaluation. Who are you around? If you had to document every moment of your day-to-day activities, what do you spend the majority of your time doing? I assure you that somewhere along the line, the burdens you carry were never intended for you to carry in the first place. The word of God says that He will never give us more than we can bear. But what about the stuff you gave yourself? Some stuff you are experiencing in life right now come from you.

If you allow yourself to be in a situation that you were never meant to be in, you end up carrying a burden you were never meant to carry. You cannot be every thing to every body. Learn how to pray for people, trust God then let it go. Do not let other people’s problems become your problem. Make it up in your mind that you will not disappoint God by trying to take things into your own hands. Watch how much better you feel when you make the decision to trust God, not worry and lay everything at His feet in prayer.

Remember, there are consequences behind every action, so if you decide not to trust God and do things on your own then you have to accept and deal with the results. Our loving Father holds the world in His hand, so there’s no reason you should feel like you have to carry it on your back. He has granted us the opportunity to come to Him in prayer at any time. When a friend, loved one, or complete stranger comes to you with a problem, don’t try and handle it yourself. The best thing you can do is pray.

One last thing, make prayer your first resort, not your last. While you’re trying to figure it out, God has already worked in out. In your prayer time, ask God to rid you of every unnecessary burden and shut every door you have opened for yourself and open new doors that only He can open to keep you in line with His will.

Thought Check:

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27 NKJV
