Life Is A Balancing Act

Often times we talk about our busy lives, which in my experience busy is not always a bad thing.  It really just depends on what you are busy doing.  Whatever it is that is consuming your time, make sure that it helps you move towards fulfilling your purpose in life and is not hindering it.  We talked about priorities the other day, now I’d like to talk about balance for a moment.  When there is balance, it allows you to remain upright and steady.  With balance comes stability and with stability comes strength.

When going about the daily hustle and bustle of life we have to have balance.  A great example I’d like to give are the many different types of food all over the world.  No matter what it is, each variety of food falls into one of the different food groups.  Research has shown that in order to be healthy, we should eat something out of each food group every day.  Here’s the kicker though, we need some of all of it, but not all of any of it.  There has to be balance in order to stay healthy.  If you over do any of it or under do any of it, this will have an impact on the way your body functions.

Same goes for life.  To have a fruitful, thriving, victorious life you must have balance.  If you don’t know how to balance all that you have going on, ask God.  He is there ready to talk to you and give you strategy on what to do.  He does not want you to be all weighed down and consumed.  At times I feel overwhelmed because I do have a whole lot going on, but I’ve learned that if I don’t put too much of my energy into one thing and not enough into something else it gets me off-balance.  If I don’t want to feel overwhelmed, I cannot do that.  God has begun to give me different strategies and ways to make sure I focus my attention properly.  I most certainly couldn’t figure it out on my own and I still have days that are a little more cumbersome than others, but I learn from them.

Is there an area of your life that is off-balance?  Doing too much of one thing, but not enough of another? Find these areas in life that need some adjustments and make them.  The opportunity for things to change for the better is there.  You just have to make a decision and make it happen.  As the saying goes, life is like riding a bicycle.  To keep your balance, you have to keep moving.  Life is a balancing act, what will your finale be like?  #iDeclare #lifeisabalancingact

Prayer:

Dear God, please help me to find balance in my life.  Please give me strategy on how to go forth day-to-day and not become overwhelmed with too much of anything.  I decree and declare that I will listen to your instruction and guidance so that I do not become weighed down and consumed with things that I should not be.  In Jesus Name, Amen.

Ecclesiates 3:1- 8 NIV “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

First Things First!!!

What are the things that seem most important in your life?  What do you spend most of your time doing?  I ask these two questions because a lot of times what we spend the majority of our everyday activities doing does not even involve the things that are most important to us.  Family is very important to most people, yet we spend so much of our day at work we don’t really get much time with family.  The busyness of today’s society can sometimes make life seem like a blur.  Now and days so many people are stressed out, feel pressured, and overall just have way too much to do.  We must set priorities in life.  No matter what you have going on, make time for what is important.

Before I get out of bed every morning, I always say a prayer and talk to God.  I spend time with God first because I know that when I roll out of bed there is no telling what life may throw my way.  My little girls make things very unpredictable for me at times.  Starting your day right is a great way to help you stay on track.  Talking to God and hearing what He has to say.  Following His lead all day will help you stay focused. It will also help you keep the right perspective to set priorities.  In my life, it’s God first, Husband, Children then everything else has to get in where it fits in.  I believe that if we set priorities in life and be lead by God, the stress and pressures of life will be minimal. If for no other reason, when you build your relationship with God, you have such an immeasurable amount of peace in your spirit that remains there at all times.

Walking hand in hand with God will allow you to enjoy every day of your life, not just weekends or vacations.  Think about what your priorities are.  If you don’t have any, make some.  Make it a point to do things that are not just on your to do list, but things that actually matter.  Things that have a purpose and have meaning.  When you wake up in the morning, set the tone for each day.  The peace that God gives will give you pleasure and relaxation even when things are not going the way you want them to.  God is just good like that.  So I encourage you to set priorities and start by making HIM first then everything else will fall into place.  #iDeclare#FirstThingsFirst

Father God, in the name of Jesus I thank you blessing me to see a new day.  I decree and declare that I will set priorities each day and not do things to just waste time.  I will use my time wisely, and make time for what is important.  Lord God YOU will forever be the head of my life and my number one priority.  In Jesus name, Amen.

What do you get out of the deal?

I’ve talked before about being a blessing to others.  Indeed this is very important, but today I want to talk about being a blessing to yourself.  Not so much physically, more so spiritually.  The concept of reading our bible, going to church or spending time with God in my opinion has been misconstrued.  So many people do it as an obligation or requirement.  This simply should not be the case.  There are no laws about these things.  Out love for God should prompt us to want to pray, study the word of God and serve the Lord.

I really want to shift your mindset for just a moment.  God is not like man.  He does not have an array of feelings He experiences everyday like we do.  He is love.  He is joy. He is peace.  He is happiness.  Yes, He desires to have a relationship with us, but if we choose not to it will not change who He is.  When we spend time with Him in prayer, serve in church, give to others, study the bible we are actually blessing ourselves.  Our devotion to Him is the best thing we can do for our self. I am a true believer that if you are about Our Father’s business, He will be about yours.  In other words, when you do what you are supposed to for Him, He will make sure that all your other personal cares and concerns are taken care of.

Stop letting other people discourage you when it comes to the things of God.  You do what you have to do.  Better yet, you do what you know you have been called to do and what you are suppose to do.  Speaking from first hand experience, I can honestly say that the worst hurt can come from people in church.  But this is why you have to stay focused.  You must have a righteous mind and desire to be about the things of the Father, just like Paul.  Paul was determined to do the will of the Father by any means necessary.  I admire that.  People talked about him, beat him, put him in jail, did everything they could to discourage him but Paul knew what he had been called to do and he did it.  He was not distracted or discouraged by what he experienced in the flesh.  He knew that his blessing was not temporary or earthly.  His blessing was eternal.

When it comes to the things of God, it is quite ok to think of yourself.  Study your word. Spend some time in prayer.  Bless yourself, you deserve it.  Next time you are being attacked or feel dismayed about spending time with God, remember what you get out of the deal and I am sure that will encourage you.  The things on this earth are temporary, but with salvation comes everlasting life which is eternal.  #iDeclare #GodBlessYOU

Prayer:

Father God in the name of Jesus, I thank you for blessing me.  Thank you for showing me that all of my blessings are not physical or temporary on this earth.  I decree and declare that I will do all that I can to be a blessing to myself, while I grow closer to You.  I will study my word.  I will spend time in prayer.  I will be a blessing to others.  I will stay focused on what You have called me to do and I will complete it.  In Jesus name, Amen.
